I've not always been a painter. My painting came out of a season of grief and pain. A friend encouraged me to put my grief in a productive place. With that, I resolved that I would either learn to play the violin or paint. Painting felt more doable, less expensive. A trip to Hobby Lobby later, having spent $100 in supplies and a painting book, my first painting, on page 1 began with a tree. Which looked horrible. Absolutely terrible. With some sweet "that looks beautiful, mommy!" from my kids and the bravery to try another tree the next day I discovered, my trees looked a little better. Thus began a journey of painting through repetition and encouragement. With both of these, the art of working on a skill, is not only possible, but full of joy. Thank you for stopping by...
